Dr. Giancarlo Mennella, M.D. Named to Advisory Board

Charlotte, North Carolina (September 7, 2004) – BurnsAdler Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that Dr. Giancarlo Mennella, M.D., has been added to the company's advisory board. Dr. Mennella is currently Managing Director - International of Bourne Partners, a healthcare focused investment banking firm and a Director of Bannert Manlik in Germany. Prior to joining Bourne Partners Dr. Mennella was the Director of Business Development at Shire Pharmaceuticals. Shire is the third largest UK pharmaceuticals group and is listed on the LSE, NASDAQ and Toronto stock exchanges. Dr. Mennella was in charge of Euro-Asian business development and has led or been involved with several product and corporate partnering transactions. He was also responsible for all business development efforts in Japan, the world's second largest pharmaceutical market. Prior to joining Shire, Dr. Mennella was Head of Business Development for Sigma-Tau.
